Sometimes you would have connected the usb cable and enabled usb on you your BIOS and done all the other setting in your windows machine, but still you wont be able to access the USB devices on your machine or it may be such that you wont be able to write anything to your usb drive. You can only read from USB. In order to write something to USB you need to have the write access set. If you are the administrator of the system you can do that.

How to Enable Write access for USB?
Enable regedit to use the usb drive. To enable the usb drive on your machine follow the below steps.

1) Goto Run
2) Type regedit and enter
3) Goto
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies 
4) Double Click on
WriteProtect=dword:00000001 and change the Value of 1 to "0"(zero) 
Zero - To enable Write access
One - To disable Write access for USB drive
