A total solar eclipse will occur on July 11, 2010. The eclipse will be visible over much of the southern Pacific Ocean, touching several small islands including Tuamotu in French Polynesia and Easter Island, as well as the southern tips of Argentina and Chile in South America.
It is preceded two weeks earlier by the partial lunar eclipse on June 26, 2010.A total lunar eclipse will take place on December 21, 2010, the second of two lunar eclipses in 2010.
